The Lakewood Orchestra program played host to the OMEA State Orchestra Adjudicated Event Feb. 22 & 23 and the Lakewood Symphonic Strings (Symphony and Chamber orchestras combined) was the first orchestra to receive straight superior ratings in Class A.
One judge said that the orchestra’s musical performance “transported the audience into another world.” Another judge commented that this is a professional sounding orchestra. Philharmonia also received an overall superior rating in class B.
Said Orchestra Director Beth Hankins: “The judges were tough, but Lakewood stood tall and made us all very proud.”
